Allosaurus was a member of the Theropod family of Saurischian dinosaurs. It is known as the "land shark" since it was capable of doing severe damage on land, much like sharks do in water. It had long arms with 3 sharp claws on its hands. It was similar to Tyrannosaurus rex, but it was half its size. It had small, ridge-like crests on its head for mating. It was able to open its mouth much wider than most theropod dinosaurs. Its teeth were serrated like steak knifes, and were just as dangerous.
